Project Overview
The Digital Convergence Forum (DCF) was an annual event produced by GS1, the global standards organization responsible for the barcode system used in virtually every retail transaction worldwide. GS1 supports more than 2 million member companies across 150 countries and serves industries ranging from retail and healthcare to logistics and manufacturing.
WordPress Development & Email Marketing
As a Front-End Developer and Email Developer at Bailey Brand Consulting, I worked on the Digital Convergence Forum website and supporting email marketing initiatives. GS1 was one of the agency’s largest and most visible clients, requiring a high level of execution and attention to detail across every deliverable.
My Role
- WordPress Development
- Front-End Development
- Responsive Email Development
- Marketo Email Campaign Support
- UI Implementation & Design QA
The Challenge
The event website needed to accurately translate approved design concepts into a polished, production-ready WordPress experience while maintaining GS1’s established brand standards. In addition, email campaigns supporting event promotion and attendee engagement needed to function reliably across a wide range of email clients and devices.
The Solution
I developed the Digital Convergence Forum website from provided design comps, ensuring a pixel-accurate implementation across desktop and mobile experiences. When design specifications were incomplete, I collaborated with stakeholders and applied UX and visual design judgment to fill gaps while remaining consistent with the existing design system and brand language.
Alongside the website work, I developed and supported Marketo email campaigns used to communicate with GS1’s extensive member network, helping ensure a cohesive digital experience across web and email touchpoints.
Impact
- Delivered a responsive WordPress event website aligned with GS1 brand standards.
- Supported digital marketing efforts through responsive email development and Marketo campaign implementation.
- Maintained design fidelity while solving UI and UX details not fully defined in source designs.
- Contributed to a digital experience representing one of the world’s most influential standards organizations.
Notes
The Digital Convergence Forum event has since concluded. This archived project remains as a portfolio example demonstrating frontend development for a global enterprise client.
